If you find a snake and want to preserve it, you have 3 options!
1. Mounting it
2. Tanning it
3. methanol/glycerin preservation

!. For mounting, catch it, freeze it in a paper or cloth bag, call a taxidermist.

2. For dry preserve, skin, flesh, tack it down, borax, and then either glue or sew onto a felt backing or whatever for wall hanging!

3. To tan it, buy some Rittels tanning kits, and flow the directions.

4. DO NOT::
Put in salt
Put in antifreeze
Put in your grand fathers snake remedy
When in doubt, reread the previous postings above!

Tom you know as well as I that in about another week there will be someone else coming along and asking the same question. I guess Ken needs to enlarge that "Search the Archives" button on the front page. People just can't seem to find it. If they can't find that button makes you wonder if they can follow those simple instructions of yours. Keep your fingers nimble and warmed up. You'll be needing them again.
