Start cutting everything out.

Since the toad is not in a classroom setting, just start removing everything from the back of the skull on backwards, you will turn the skin inside out as you pull on the carcass and make your tiny relive cuts.

I would mold it rather than skin mount.

Ok

OK, sounds quite difficult, but wortht a try. I don`t like molds, they will never be the real thing. What is the best material to stuff with? I have used cotton earlier.

Its called a reproduction

A mold is what is made from the real animal.

The thing that looks most like the animal is a reproduction and reproduction can look just a good as the mount, its what you do with the reproduction that counts.

I would use apoxie sculpt to fill the body out
