I have a 5 foot rattle snake skin i killed last summer.I first put salt on it & let it sit in the sun for about a weak then coated it heavly in glycerin ,It is hanging on the wall in my garage streached out flat.I am wanting to use part of it on my motorcycle seat is there anything i can do to make it last, or further treat it?
Or does anyone know where i can find some faux material that will work?

You only preserved the skin and not tanned it. It will not take moisture or abuse of water or weatehr. If you seal it with a good hard sealer it will not adhere to the glycetrin. amd will probably crack when wrinkled or bent. Go on e-bay and they seel fake snake skin enbossed vinyl for your purpose
thanks for your help wetnwild.
