rattlesnake skin

I have a 5 1/2 ft rattlesnake skin currently tacked down on a board and salted down. When finished I would like to have it mounted on cedar wood. What are my next steps to preserve this skin? I have no knowledge on this so any help is appreciated.

Ordring Bruce Rittels snake tan kit. You have done everything right up to this point, might as well finish with a bang. Will give you a nice soft tanned skin that will last a lifetime with no color loss.

salted for how long?

Until you get the tanning kit in. You can tan the skins fresh, but since you salted it first, no problem. It was the correct thing to do. When the kit comes in, just continue the process according to directions
