Hello, I simply found a shed skin of a large snake and would like to
keep it safe. How do I prevent it from eventual tearing etc. How would I preserve this type of skin?
Much thanks,

put it into an airtight container. Preferably in a vacuum.
About 1957 I put the shed skins of several pet snakes under the glass of my desk. Last time I was home I noticed they were still there but ragged and broken some.
I found a shed snakeskin some years ago. I just glued it on a nylon felt and lackquered it. It is still in perfect shape, and will not tear.
Just apply several coats of hair spray to a dry skin.
