CITES Regulations?

Submitted by ADW on 07/20/2004 at 19:13. ( )

I met a guy through the internet who is willing to sell me 100 small farmed crocodile taxidermy heads. He is located in the Netherlands and he says that he can get a CITES permit for $150 and have the heads shipped to me if I pay for them. I read somewhere that the volume of crocodile heads shipped into the US is tightly restricted. Is what he is saying true and is it legal to ship the heads if he gets the permit?
Thanks for any responses.

Contact the USFWS and ask them? Their opinion matters - not ours...

One More Thing...

I haven;t heard of a CITES permit costing $150... they are ususally $25 for animals that are allowed to be shipped and transported. Unless there is a special permit required for shipping multiple animals per shipment? The possibility is there that it is legal - but again - get in touch with the USFWS before you do anything =)

Thanks Raven
