Turtle head

I inherited a large mounted turtle head (about 8" in diameter) that I would wildly guess is about 80 years old. Is it legal to sell something like this? I haven't been able to find out what the regulations are regarding antiques and animals that my be endangered. If anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it. Brady

You are better of calling the Federal Wildlife agency in New Mexico. They can answer your question better then anyone on here.

It is quite possible that your turtle you inherited is a now protected specie. Under the granfather clause you can own it (must show prove of its age and acquisition) but I don't think you can legally sell it if it is a protective specie of turtle.
