what's the quickest way to clean a turtle shell?

i recently found a dead red eared slider tuetle and it's all dried out. i want to get rid of the body but keep the shell in one piece what's the quickest way to do this?

If you want the shell in ONE piece, you will have to spit and scrape and work your elbows dry till you get all the meat and tissue out, and even then you will not get it all as some of it cannot be gotten unless taken apart. You could use dermestid beetles, but seing as you want to do it your self, youll have to mess with it till clean. OR, you can separate the two halves and then clean out real good, and then glue the plastron back on and seal

fire ant mound worked for me. Not very profesional but it worked.
