What is the best type of wood to use to mount a rattle snake skin?

I take it what you are asking is what kind of wood panel would be the best to use to tag a rattlesnake skin onto?
That is personal preference. I have customers who like it taged onto an old piece of barnwood, others like something a little more fancy like pine or oak. Any wood will do as long as it looks nice to the person who will receive the skin.
I got a 36" by 10" or 12" for a pike and it was really nice. White center and dark edges. Looks sharp!
