We found a dead croc in our bait trap. I put various small cuts into it and placed it on a board and left it by an ants nest to remove the meat. What can i do next? Thanks

To match what you have already done wrong. Your croc is past saving, bud, and so is you A$$ if the Feds catch you. That croc has more protection that George W. Bush. It is against the law to have one in your possession.......dummy!

your croc, if that's what it is, is illegal to possess. Federal law.
If your croc is an alligator you still possess it illegally since most likely you do not have a permit for it. Wether it's a croc or a gator, you possess this animal illegally.
Plus you ruined it already to even consider saving the hide by tanning. This is not the way to preserve a hide on any animal.
