dad got one out of one of his his chicken pens last night . says its at least 60 inches and has 14 rattlers. i got to get video now to figure out how to mount . only problen is if the 22 hole in top of his head will be repairable . he said it came out and tore part of bottom jaw? has a snake catcher to grab them with . but said he didnt have enough beer in him at the time to use it? said he put in plastic bag and put in freezer. just wondering how long it will keep ?

They will keep quite a while in the freezer. It's best to push most of the air out of the bag and seal it up,but even without that, they last a good while in the freezer. These days I vacuum seal mine.I think the .22 hole in the head will be worth repairing on a snake like that.Usually where it rips on the chin looks worse than it is.That should sew up easily.A little epoxy putty will finish the job.I like to sew with 4 lb.Berkley Fireline. You might just be able to pin the hole in the top of the head, till it dries.

thanks

If you are truly concerned about this being your first attempt at mounting a Snakeskin - then I highly suggest buying Tom Voyer's Video on mounting Venomous Snakes! We carry it as well as other Distributors. But the point is - it's worth the investment! It makes it easy!
