how to clean a snappin turtle shell

I need to know how to clean the shell of a snapper without bioling it.

get your own or give it to some one with some beetles. they do an excellent job on turtle shells. i'm not a beetle expert like some on here, but i got some, put them in a plastic rubbermaid tub with some sawdust and the things multiplied x4 in about a month or so. they had a big snapper shell cleaned in about 2 weeks. it's kind of cool to see the little suckers work. good luck.
