I have a friend in Pa. who has Timber Rattlers on his farm. He would like to have one mounted but he is not sure if they are protected in his state. Any info appreciated.

I thought they were totally protected.I recently spoke to a friend in PA and he said that PA now has a permit that you can obtain that allows you to take 2 timber rattlers.You need to talk to the PA Game Commission and find out the details.
can get a permit from the fish comm. for 1 rattler unless that has been changed this year. The season is only 1 month and you missed it.
season runs from june 1 to july 31,you are allowed to harvest 1 snake,it is also nessary to send in a report , after the season on what you found durning the season.the Pa. fish commission handles this permit, check there website for more information.
