Tanning oil

I use a formic acid pickel and a Lutan F tan. My question is why do I need to use a tanning oil, how do I use it, and which type do you recommend. Thanks.

Tanning oil

I would recommend Pro plus oil from Rittels. It penetrates fast and I have less shrinkage when using this type of oil. I believe the reason for oiling is stretch and shrinkage. It also softens the skin making it more taxable. Good luck, Mark

Mark is right!

The tanning oil gives you lubrication and "size". Besides making the skin soft by lubricating it, it also fills voids in the flesh and prevents it from shrinking! Mark gave you good advice! The ProPlus Oil is used by mixing it 1 part oil to 2 parts hot tap water. you swab it on after tanning and rinsing.
