i am mixing up 20 gal. batch of pickling solution and i plan to put 4 deer capes in my ph is correct now .when adjusting the ph how much safty acid should i add to make it come back dowm?

Test the pH with litmus paper, the pH if you followed instructions should be 1.5-2.0 in not add acid until the pH drops to that range. This is the correct range for any pickle. In a emergency you can add 5% vinegar to the acid also to help drop the pH.

As you add salted hide the pH will rise therefore you must add additonal acid to fromp the pH. i.e. back to chemistry 100 salt is a alkalie and does some what neutralize the acid pickle.
