how to use a Salinometer

I bought a Salinometer to make sure I have the right amount of salt, but now I do not have a clue how to used, what do I do? and how do I measure the level of salt, and by the way that is the right level of salt ? help !

leon, drop the salinometer in your solution and it will sink
to a certain depth. read the scale on the meter and thats your
salt content. you should be 40% or higher,

When you place your Salinometer in the solution, it will float with the small end upwards, note where the level of the solution crosses the scale. This is where you take the reading. I always like mine to read 40-43%.
