One year ago received a pH tester made by Hanna. Last year I made some very good pickles using it to test the pH level in my formic acid pickle. Then this year when I got it out to test the pH level it reads 2.5 which is the level I was taught to be good, I then double check it with litmus paper, the paper reads 5 or 6. Which should I trust? Does the paper go bad after time? Or is the tester malfunctioning?
