Tan temp to cold

Submitted by David on 1/20/00. ( )

I have been doing some tanning for the first time this year.
The directions on the tanning agent say to have the temperature at between 65-75 for best tan. I have checked the temp and with a small heater in the shop at night my water temp is only in the mid to upper 40's. Ireally dont want to bring all my stuff in the house, could I use a heater used for heating fish tanks to maintain tan temp? Thanks for any help!

Cold slows it down!

Yes - 40 degress F. is too cold for tanning. The cold slows down the chemical reaction of the tan with the fibers. You can try a fish tank heater in it. It should logically work - but then, I've never used one and its hard to speculate.
