Weights for Processing

Hopefully someone has an easy way. My concern is keeping materials on on hand so when it comes time for mounting I'm not waiting on a pre-measured kit 3-4 days later. By that time I could've had the item mounted. For example, if I have a 5 lb. bag of dry presv. How do I know I can use 7oz. for a cape, 3oz. for a coon, 2 0z. for a squirrel and so on till my 5lb. bag is used up and it's time to purchase another one? I know it has something to do with the weight of what I'm mounting. Is a formula, 1 oz.of material for every pound of weight or what??? Help!! Thanks, Scott

I don't believe I would worry about that if I were you. Simply keep your bag there handy and when it get's down about half--order another. Since it won't spoil, you'll always have it as needed. We use about 300 lbs. per year.
