OK here's my problem. I normally have been using Safety Acid, but had some Formic left over. So. I whipped up a batch and I pickled three capes in it recently and was able to maintain the proper PH. Well, I checked it afterward and it still seemed ok so I just put two new capes in and when I rechecked the PH it had risen above 2 and I need to bring it back down, but all I have to do this with is saftee acid. Is that exceptable or would you smarter than I folks not recommend doing that? I hate to buy more formic as I am really pleased with the results of MR. Rittel's product. There's a free plug for ya Bruce :-) Let me know what ya'll think. Appreciate it! Marc
WASCO crystals (OXalic acid) or vineger 5% with safley mix with formic, if you need to pull the pH down as a emergency measure.
Call Bruce and see. John C
I had the the same situation once. I used the safety acid to spice up the formic and did not notice any ill effects. It brought the PH down just like formic would have. Put some in and check it, before adding too much. Dan K
Thanks guys! MARC
