I have preped and fleshed a cape for dry p-mount and would like to know can I still just salt and tan? But if I deside to still DP the mount I understand you flesh real good but being new at this you always think you'll leave membrain and it will rot.
Jim, you can tan youre skin, but youll want to shave youre hide thin, this is after you have salted first,and you should salt it til its salt dried,because salt drying will help set youre epidermis. Than you can go to youre pickle and tan. The salting and pickling shrink the skin up somewhat, so thats why youll need to shave youre skin thinner so you can have youre stretch back,hope this helps.
