MOISTURE PROBLEMS

I HAVE A SALT DRYED CAPE , THAT I PUT IN MY BASEMENT, IT SOMEHOW DREW MOISTURE FROM THE AIR AND REHYDRATED ITSELF. IS THE CAPE ANY GOOD? I PLACED IT IN MY FREEZER ONCE I FOUND IT WAS REHYDRATED. WAS IN MY BASEMENT APPROXIMENTLY 2 WEEKS

Jamie, Take your cape and shake off old salt, resalt and hang it over a 2X4 or close line and place a dehumidifier near it to draw the moisture from the cape. If it was salted good, it should still be ok.
If you don't have any slippage problems with it now,you should be ok.
Remember,salt doesn't freeze very easy...ie they use salt to melt ice and snow on roads. Good luck, Kent

THANKS FOR THE HELP. THIS CAPE IS OFF AN ILLIONOIS WHITETAIL, I PERSONALLY HARVESTED LAST FALL. I WOULD HATE TO LOOSE IT1
