I've got black (large) spots on a cape that im trying to rehydrate. The spots will not get soft and pliable. It looks like freezer burn but this is a cape from my deer and it has never seen the freezer. It was shot,photos taken,butcherd,caped,every thing turned, and salted twice and dryed.I gave up on trying to rehydrate and put it in a pickle after 10hr. of rehydrating, black spots are still hard. Does anyone know what caused these spots or what is causing them and how i can get them pliable like the rest of the cape?
