good directions for tanning a coon to mount

can anyone help must I dry my skins first whats a good relaxer for dried skins

Erv,when I do a coon , I do my initial rough fleshing first, then salting,then washing of the cape to remove dirt and salt, then I degrease the skin,then pickle, and then go on to the tanning process,you can let the hide salt dry first before doing any other steps-this really helps to lock in the hair-but you dont have to,and as far as relaxers go Knoblochs makes one,Relax-R, Bruce Rittel makes one-but I cant seem to remember the name of it,both of these products should work for you if you decide to dry out youre skin,by the way, in the steps above I do the rest of my fleshing when in the pickling stage right before tanning,hope this helps you out.
