Speed of freezing?

Many times people roll capes into a tight ball, this allows the cape to freeze in about 3 days, with the insulation facture of hair it also allows the bacteria to build and get started.

I skin, wash with a real bactericide, Rittel's has one or Dixieland Supply (NEVER USE LYSOL IT RAISES YOUR pH, Check it out with PH paper) Spin out in a old washing machine, and spread them oout to chill, when alomst frozen (keep checking) I roll them up, since doing them this way I have not lost any hides, even fox and yotes. I alos thaw them in water and us running water on them, fresh water dont have bacteria. Like a bucket of water with a hide sitting in it.

Roll your deer hide up and freeze immediatly,Water at this point is your worst enemy. the blood will wash out fine after you salt, and during the rehydration process,

salt,salt

Take the big chunks of flesh off then salt for a day then resalt to setttttt hairrrrr. If your going to freeze after skinning and before fleashing just skin fold hide once put in freezer for 1/2 hour pull out roll up in a ball and freeze completly. don't worry about washing hide untill after been salted .and your problem is your making the hide wet before you are setting hair water promotes bacteria = hair slippage . Remember when you salt rub in good ,and let hide dry rock hard before you rehydrate, pickle, and tan you will have way less chance of hair slippage .trust me ive gone threw what your going threw.and now i skin ,flesh, and salt on same day i know it's alot of work but worth it remember dry it rock hard, then use relaxer-r,or Rittel's ultra-soft relaxer to rehydrate ,and blood and dirt will come out doring pickling !good -luck
