But I would say if it is like other acids as long as the ph balance is kept a 2
or below it will be fine for quite a while. I have not used safety acid so I cannot tell you for sure.

As long as you maintain the Ph, and stir it, you can keep skins in it quite a while. I've kept skins pickled for 3-6 months.
