I just rehydrated a salt dried cape in the 2 lbs of salt per gallon of water method and found that cape does not have a lot of strech and seems like it will be hard to work with. I mean I think I can get the mount completed but I'm looking for a product or method to help ensure of a good relaxed cape. Any help will be appriciated.

Hope you are not mounting slat dried capes without pickling and tanning? It sounds as though you are. Please explain.
Is there need to neutralize your cape after removing it from the lutan solution? Thanks, Bob
You only do this after the pickle.
