I do not know anything at all about skins or tanning. I got a cat-like skin, but huge. The skin was somewhat prepared (but I do not know how) when I got it, but it smelled. Not knowing anything about tanning, I salted it to help it conserve. It keeps well but smells. I now want to finish it so I can keep it in the house. Could I put it in a alum-water solution and then dry it and subsequently put oil on it? Other suggestions welcome. Greatfulfor advice.
