SALTING

I have read on this forum that when you are salting hides they need to be in a cool dry place.How cool is cool or i guess my question really is what temp. would be considered to HOT.I salt all my hides outside and now that it is getting pretty warm I was just curiuos.I dont want to screw up.

No only kidding A cool dry place can be 40*-60* and you will be fine. As doing you slat in the heat? I wouldn't take the chance. Find some shaded spot mainly somewhere in the basement and do it there, place a fan near it to keep it cool and it will dry out faster.
