Thanks to everyone who responded to me. I am not so happy about your answers, but I need honest, straightforward info, and you have given it to me...Why was my cat sold?... 2 months after his death, I brought him,in person, over 400 miles to a taxidermist who advertised as a family business w/27 yrs of experience and a specialty in freezedrying family pets. During this time, the owner decided to sell the frzdry part of his business to his friend w/ no real experience (and no sense of honesty or compassion whatsoever)... Their deal was very ambiguous and secretive... I maintained regular contact while both men repeatedly lied to me about the condition of my animal, saying I was "over-reacting" and should be more patient... in addition, they received $500.00 from me, each man claiming the other is holding my deposit... I sure can't get any straight answers, but in addition to the pain and grief I am experiencing, this situation reflects badly on all those who are honest professionals. From my experience, I know only that I can never trust anyone... Thanks for listening... Raven.
Let me tell you a few things. First off, this does NOT reflect poorly on ALL of us, regardless of how you feel. Many of us run our business much differently. Hell, I dont look at ALL customers any differently now because of YOU. Second, why havent you used legal means to pursue this? The shame of it is, Im not sure if it would help solve anything if you have lost the pet that meant so much to you. People are given trust as they EARN it. Hope theres a silver lining there for you.
I suggest you talk to the two taxidermists who are your problem. We can't tell you why THEY did anything. Also, this does NOT reflect on the rest of the honest professional taxidermists out there. Thats common sense of which your grief is obviously clouding. Next seek some therapy for that grief, you sound as though you could use the help of another professional area of expertise. I am sorry for your loss.
