Hi John,
First I want to thank you for all your patience with us intermediate Taxidermists! My question is this. When mixing up a relaxer bath of 2 lbs of salt per gallon of water, I've been using HOT water and letting it cool for a day or so before using. I'm under the immpression that this how it is to be done or can you use cold water?
Thanks again John,
Lance!

I don't know how you could get the salt to dissolve without using hot water. Never tried cold water. I make the brine the night before and its cooled down and ready to use the next morning or sometimes I make it early in the morning and whenever it is cool enough I use it.

I add salt to cold water and swirl it around and it disolves into the water pretty quick. Been doing it for years.Use your hand or a big dowel stick to stir it up. Ph of water and wether water is hard or soft might be a factor though.
