I was wondering how long I can safely keep a deer cape in the refrigerator?
I pulled it out of the freezer and let it thaw out to work on it (sew holes, thin eyes more, and remove cartilage).
It has been tanned with Ez-100.I won't be able to mount it for 3 days,I've heard thawing and refreezing isn't good for a cape,so I thought I would keep it in a plastic bag in the refrigerator so it wouldn't dry out.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,Jeff S.

But make sure the hair is pretty dried out, not the skin but the hair. If this hair side is saturated you may end up with slippage. The epidermis gets to wet and naturally hair will fall out. I have done this on more than one occasion and never had a problem as of yet, but the hair is dry. It's not a good pratice to do it this way but you should be fine, make sure the fridge is colder than usuall.
