How can I, or what can I use to wash a deer cape before salting ?
It is full of blood and mud and I think the hair will stain if not
prewashed. I know that the faster the salt is applied the better and
I can not recall anything in the archieves. Any thoughts would be
helpful. thanks..Jeff
over 20 years, just a clear water rinse after you thaw it. It will not stain unless the blood dries hard on the hair. Dont take a chance with the freeze cycle. Just wait until you are ready to work the cape and tan.
