I'm doing my bear and when i turned the lips, there was alot of meat in them. My question is, What is the best way to flesh out the meat. Inexperience on my part caused two holes in the lips. Thank you for your info.

Just one of those learning processes. Some folks use bats, boards, and one of guy I know uses a lightbulb. As for me, I'm a touchy/feely guy who uses his fingers as underneath support. I'm a slow learner, but after I'd cut through into my finger several times, I quickly learned the feel of when I was getting too close. You'll find the method that works best for you. It just takes time.
Best 6 bucks I ever spent was on a skife knife.
I use a gentle back and forth "sawing" motion letting the
weight of the knife slice off meat.
