what would be the best way to soften a cream tanned racoon hide for a rug (Rineharts tanning cream ) its pretty stiff now.

First off, topical tans aren't the best choice for "rug tanning", but since that point is moot, you still have to BREAK the hide. You're going to need tanning oil and break the fibers in the hide. Go to the Archives under the SEARCH icon to the left.
