Can you salt, pickle ,neutralize, shave,than tan or do need to pickle again
after shaving will this hurt if you don't pickle twice.

You should salt, pickle, shave, pickle, neutralize than tan, in that order. After the first shaving you expose the inner hide which may not have taken the acid, by returning to pickle for an additional 24 hours gives total acid penetration...Paul
