I finally dropped the DP and started bringing my capes to a tannery. The first two I got back I loved it. So, I sent about fifteen more to get done. I staggered them so I would get a few at a time back. Guess what? The next two came back.I rehydrated them and the hair is slipping. Is there any suggestions on what could have happened? Thanks

It could be from you or the tannery. If a hide has bacteria growth on it and even though you may have salted it and dried it hard there is always a chance it could slip. Plus do you know how the hide was handled before you got it. Next is did the PH go up at the tannery in their pickle doubtfully but it can happen. I would call the company up and ask them what they think may have caused it. If your lucky and the tannery stands behind their product they sometimes give you a break on replacement hides.
But what the real solutions is starts at the time of death. From there it will depend on how it was handled before it got to you and what you did when you received it, then the tannery. It's real hard to determine on whom may have cause it.
