liqua tanned hides

Submitted by chuck on 2/18/02. ( ) 216.93.7.11

I have a couple of hides that I cannot mount until the weekend. They have been tanned with liqua tan. I know I can put in the freezer or let them dry and rehydrate them but I was wondering if I could keep them cool until then. This way I wouldn't have to let them thaw or re-hydrate. Any problem with that?

I would freeze them.

If it were only 2 to 3 days I would say keep them cool but this being monday I would freeze them. Plus a tanned hide does not take long to thaw. It is no where near the time it takes a raw skin to thaw.

Freezing them would be your best bet but they will be fine for 7 to 10 days in the fridge.I have never had any problems with them being in the fridge for 10 days or less.
