I am 15 years old and have skinned a beaver and would like information on tanning the hide. I would like for the skin to be soft. Also any ideas on how to get all the fat off? I have it stretched on plywood and salted down. Thanks

To get all of the fat off of that what you need to do is round off a
2x6 on the sides and one end. Then lay the skin over the beam and using
a sharp knife or a beam knife start pushing down on the beam on the
skin and it will roll the fat off. I can fax you a picture if you need
one. To tan the skin we offer a Para Tan kit, you will also need to
get some of our Super solv degreaser. The degreaser will also help take
some of the grease and fat off. Besides the kit, you will need baking
soda and salt. Go to our website to see instructions, and also do online
purchasing.
