I have been doing taxidermy for about 1 year now and there is nothing I love doing more. I am thinking about buying a new fleshing maching and I need input as to which models work the best. I would like to use it for fleshing meat off the fresh hides as well as thinning after tanning. I plan to at least tan whitetails myself when I have to (for flexibility and timliness). I have some carpel tunnel in my hand and I want to use a knife as little as possible. I am not worried so much about cost but I really want a quality machine that will perform and last a long time. Any Help will be appreciated. Thanks.

We have had some lengthy discussions on that one. And, by the way, your the first that money wasn't the object. There are some VERY good ones out there that start at about $1200 without a motor and table.

.................George is right. There is a ton of info in the archives on this. I have the Quebec Lite, and for me this machine works great! But not all folks like the same products. Search the archives, read all the pros/cons and then decide which machine you think you'll be happiest with.
Erik:
Everyone has their favorite fleshing machine as you will see in the archives. I personally have two Cape Masters that i wouldnt trade for anything. I also have two Quebecs that do an excellent job. The prices are different in them all and its really a matter of how much you want to spend and who to believe. If you know someone with one another taxidermist maybe he would let you try it out and see which one you like best. Toonster
