A guy brought back two reindeer hides from Norway and they seem to be just stretched and dried (not salted.) Can I rehydrate these and tan them? Slippage?

I would advise you to buy a wet back agent like van wet from Van Dykes or ultra soft from Rittel's. It will return your hides to thier original softness far quicker than just water and salt solution. This will reduce the chance of slippage and cleans the hair and fur beautifully. It is pretty economical as well. By the way, you have a great first name!
