Is glycerine a viable substitutions for tanning oil? If so, does it need to be thinned down and with what? If not, why?
Thanks, Pete

Glycerin [Glycerol - C3H3(OH)3]is obtained from saponification of fats and oils and has a tendency to leach out of leathers or to gel over time. Tanning oils are much more complex.....or so they say.
