After I have salted the capes or hides how should they be stored to dry? On a wire rack, rolled up, folded.....? Let me know the way you prefer.

First dry them hard - then store them! I keep a lot of skins for experimenting purposes and you have salted and dried, you have several options. If you have a fairly dry shop - simply hang them somewhere until you need to rehydrate them and mount. Or - I store them in airtight Drums with a perforated box of moth balls over the summer months. Both methods work - but I highly recommend you do not roll them up - hang them open!
