Dying and Tanning

Submitted by trexels_woman on 5/2/02. ( trexels_woman@hotmail.com )

I searched the archives, but found nothing... What kind of dye do you use for furs, and can you tan them at the same time? How do you go about doing this? (I need it for in a handwarmer, so it would be good for it to be soft...)

Thanks so much,

Not meaning to sound smart but "leather dye" is what works permanently. Tandy Leather used to be a good supplier of all colors you needed. As for dying and tanning, they are two separate jobs with the former coming last after the tanning is complete.

Thank you...
