Rabbit ears: can I tan them?

Submitted by Muleskinner on 6/21/02. ( ) 66.43.243.143

Hi, I skinned a rabbit, and I'd like to us the ears for something. We have dogs who LOVE to chew stuff. So, can I tan the ears or what can I do to make hard chew toys? Would the tanned ears hurt the dogs? Well, bye!

Rabbit ears in my opinion would not make a good chewtoy. For two minutes maybe. You can just let them dry in the sun hanging from a clothline or a branch. That would make them hard. But the dogs would make shortcomings of them in no time. I would stick to hooves and bones for the dogs. Deer legs make better chewtoys.

Thanks!
