Everytime I come to the tanning forum I see a new tannery! Is there that many people out there that really know what they are doing well enough to start their own fur dressing company?

A more important question might have been, "Are there that many qualified taxidermists out there needing that many tanneries?" You put the cart before the horse on this one.
your probablly right. Maybe I will go to tanning school for a month, then open my own tannery when I get out! Ha Ha!
There are an aweful lot of taxidermy schools, and apprentices out there who eventually might want a tannery. Thought about it, think I am going to ride the fence on this one.
I want to make a small pixie- like hat for my wife. We are told the leather should be soft lambskin.where do I get lambskin and are there many different thicknesses and so forth. Thank you in advance. bill
