Hello,
I am trying to restore some military saddles and need a Canadian Source for leather and "green"(wet) rawhide. I classify myself as a beginner. I hand stich everything. I am looking for a Quality source for tanned leather which will not tear or stretch. I live in the Montreal . Also would like to talk to someone with similar interest or person who could help choose good leather.

When we packed people in the mountains (grand tetons and wind river range) in Wyoming we had made our own from tanned cow hides. you can get half hides too. that way you could pick the thickness and cut your own width
