I just recieved a shipment of hides wet tanned.The shipping company was payed to deliver 2nd day, well that was on the 29th of aug.When I opened the order I could smell the mold, but the hair seems tight yet can I just clean them and what would be the best way of going about it.

I always wash my wet tanned capes in water, a little borax, and a cap of kemal or shampoo. I would suggest that you do this also, and add a little vinegar to the water to get rid of the mold.Rinse in clear water with a little hair conditioner in the water. This makes the capes real easy to handle,plus they smell good. I also freeze all my wet tanned capes until needed.
