Hello
I just stumbled onto this forum....I am in a pickle ...I can't find a supplier of alum anywhere without buying the little 1/2 oz boxes at the supermarket....Anyone help me? I have two grey fox, a nice coyote and a deer hide to finish..just witing on the alum/salt

Check with the people that treats your city (or county) water supply.
They use Aluminum Sulphate to coagualate the solids in the untreated water. They can give you the name of a chemical company that handles alum in bulk. I used to get mine free from a chemical co.that would have a bag break open, and would be unusable for them. You can also obtain small quantities at some garden shops.

I was in the same situation as you, couldn't find alum any where. Then I found it at LOWES hardware. They also carry Hydrated Lyme also, both right next to each other in the garden center with all the other chemicals.
