I´m using dry tanning (alum + salt + tartaric acid in 2:2:1) for mammals and birds and I wanna test borax. I´m asking if borax is better then my mixture or not. I heard that borax causes mammal pelage bleaching and is not good for long term conservation. How is it? Thanx for answers.
